Why this Combat leveling route is a starting point

The generator fills Combat before spending the final three points in Subtlety. It values hit, off-hand damage, Energy efficiency and weapon-dependent offense, and the route reaches Adrenaline Rush through Blade Flurry. The off-tree points are a generated starting choice, not a requirement of every Combat build.

  • Puncturing Wounds 3 and Precision 3 are early critical/hit investments; Precision 3 gates Weapon Expertise.
  • Blade Flurry 1 opens Adrenaline Rush at row 7.
  • The final three points land on Opportunity in Subtlety; move them if your plan needs another utility instead.

Each route is generated from the current snapshot by scoring legal next picks for damage, attack speed, resource flow and sustain, filling the primary tree first, then spending any remaining points in the other trees. Every point passes the same row-gate and prerequisite checks as the calculator. The result is a reproducible starting route, not a tier-list or simulation result.

Leveling route: levels 10–20 (points 1–11)

This opening band contains the first legal picks the deterministic scorer selects. Reordering within the same row is possible only when the resulting point sequence still satisfies every prerequisite.

Order Level Talent Ranks Effect
1 10 Coup de Grace 3/3 (3 pts) Increases the damage done by your Eviscerate ability by 20%, and the damage and storage rate of your Death Mark ability by 20%.
4 13 Efficient Strikes 2/2 (2 pts) Reduces the Energy cost of your Sinister Strike and Hemorrhage abilities by 5.
6 15 Puncturing Wounds 3/3 (3 pts) Increases the critical strike chance of your Backstab by 30% and your Mutilate by 15%, and gives Backstab a 45% chance to add an additional Combo Point.

Leveling route: levels 20–40 (points 12–31)

This middle band spends the points that unlock deeper rows and the route’s multi-rank talents. The exact level shown is the level at which that point becomes available.

When to deviate from this Rogue leveling route

  • Use Assassination for poison and Combo Point planning. Malice 5 gates Lethality and Venom 1 gates Mutilate.
  • Use Subtlety for stealth, opener and bleed synergy. Dirty Tricks 2 gates Quick Getaway and Preparation 1 gates Death Mark.
  • No weapon specialization is required by the route. Pick the weapon your abilities support and read Hack and Slash’s weapon-dependent text before committing.

After changing a point, verify the result in the calculator. Removing a prerequisite can invalidate every dependent talent, and the 51-point budget leaves no room for a free substitution without removing another point.

Rogue leveling route FAQ

How is this Rogue leveling route validated?

Every one of the 51 points is generated against snapshot snap-4c0dd5427276 and checked by the same rules engine as the calculator: the 51-point budget, row gates, direct prerequisites and maximum ranks all pass. The official v9_ Build Code and the site share link are both produced from that validated allocation.

When does Rogue receive each talent point?

The first talent point arrives at level 10, and one more arrives per level through level 60. More than one point can be shown on a level row because every level grants a point; the table records both the point order and the character level.

When should I change this Combat leveling route?

Use Assassination for poison and Combo Point planning. Malice 5 gates Lethality and Venom 1 gates Mutilate. Use Subtlety for stealth, opener and bleed synergy. Dirty Tricks 2 gates Quick Getaway and Preparation 1 gates Death Mark. No weapon specialization is required by the route. Pick the weapon your abilities support and read Hack and Slash’s weapon-dependent text before committing. The route is a legal starting point, not a claim that it is the only useful allocation for every player.
