WoW Forever Priest Leveling Build — Shadow 51 Points
A Shadow route with two Discipline points in Power in Light. This is a deterministic, rules-validated starting route for levels 10–60; every point is tied to the current official snapshot. It is a starting allocation, not a universal ranking of priest builds.

Leveling route split and official Build Code

uses the game’s v9_ format and
preserves the official tree IDs and talent-array order. The site share
link uses the separate legacy-compatible #b= format.
v9_613.2-78.55552221251312251 Why this Shadow leveling route is a starting point
The generator fills Shadow and places the final two points in Discipline for Power in Light. The route prioritizes Shadow damage plus the Spirit Tap and Vampiric Embrace sustain loop, then reaches Shadowform. It is a legal starting allocation, not a claim that Shadow is the right tree for every Priest role.
- Blackout 5 and Shadow Focus 5 are the first ten points; Blackout 5 gates Improved Psychic Scream.
- Mind Flay 1 gates Improved Mind Flay, and Vampiric Embrace 1 gates Shadowform.
- Spirit Tap is the route’s sustain hook; check it before spending spare points on top-row damage.
Each route is generated from the current snapshot by scoring legal next picks for damage, attack speed, resource flow and sustain, filling the primary tree first, then spending any remaining points in the other trees. Every point passes the same row-gate and prerequisite checks as the calculator. The result is a reproducible starting route, not a tier-list or simulation result.
Leveling route: levels 10–20 (points 1–11)
This opening band contains the first legal picks the deterministic scorer selects. Reordering within the same row is possible only when the resulting point sequence still satisfies every prerequisite.
| Order | Level | Talent | Ranks | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 | Blackout | 5/5 (5 pts) | Gives your Shadow damage spells a 10% chance to stun the target for 3 sec. |
| 6 | 15 | Shadow Focus | 5/5 (5 pts) | Improves your chance to hit with Shadow spells by 5%. |
| 11 | 20 | Mind Flay | 1/1 (1 pt) | Assault the target's mind with Shadow energy, causing 63 Shadow damage over 3 sec and slowing their movement speed by 50%. |
Leveling route: levels 20–40 (points 12–31)
This middle band spends the points that unlock deeper rows and the route’s multi-rank talents. The exact level shown is the level at which that point becomes available.
| Order | Level | Talent | Ranks | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | 21 | Improved Mind Flay | 2/2 (2 pts) | Each instance of damage of Mind Flay deals 20% more damage than its previous instance of damage. |
| 14 | 23 | Spirit Tap | 2/5 (2 pts) | Gives you a 40% chance to increase your Spirit by 100% for 15 sec after killing a non-trivial target or when an enemy afflicted by your Vampiric Embrace dies. For the duration, 50% of your Mana regeneration will continue while casting. |
| 16 | 25 | Shadow Weaving | 3/3 (3 pts) | Your Shadow damage spells have a 100% chance to increase the Shadow damage the target takes from you by 2% for 15 sec, stacking up to 5 times. |
| 19 | 28 | Vampiric Embrace | 1/1 (1 pt) | Afflicts your target with Shadow energy that causes all party members to be healed for 20% of any Shadow spell damage you deal for 30 sec. |
| 20 | 29 | Spirit Tap | 5/5 (3 pts) | Gives you a 100% chance to increase your Spirit by 100% for 15 sec after killing a non-trivial target or when an enemy afflicted by your Vampiric Embrace dies. For the duration, 50% of your Mana regeneration will continue while casting. |
| 23 | 32 | Devouring Contagion | 2/2 (2 pts) | Reduces the mana cost of your Devouring Plague by 50%. Targets that die while Devouring Plague is active spreads it, jumping to 2 nearby enemies within 10 yds for the remaining duration. |
| 25 | 34 | Improved Mind Blast | 1/5 (1 pt) | Reduces the cooldown of your Mind Blast spell by 0.5 sec. |
| 26 | 35 | Darkness | 5/5 (5 pts) | Increases your Shadow damage done by 10%. |
| 31 | 40 | Early Demise | 1/2 (1 pt) | Increases Shadow Word: Death's critical strike chance on targets at or below 20% health by 15%. |
Leveling route: levels 40–60 (points 32–51)
The final band finishes the primary tree, then assigns any remaining legal points. Those off-tree points are visible in the split above; they are not required for a different role or weapon plan.
| Order | Level | Talent | Ranks | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 32 | 41 | Early Demise | 2/2 (1 pt) | Increases Shadow Word: Death's critical strike chance on targets at or below 20% health by 30%. |
| 33 | 42 | Shadowform | 1/1 (1 pt) | Assume Shadowform, increasing your Shadow damage by 10%, reducing the Mana cost of all Shadow spells by 50%, increasing the critical strike damage bonus of your Shadow spells by 100%, and reducing Physical damage taken by you by 15%. However, you may not cast healing spells while in this form. |
| 34 | 43 | Improved Mind Blast | 5/5 (4 pts) | Reduces the cooldown of your Mind Blast spell by 2.5 sec. |
| 38 | 47 | Improved Shadow Word: Pain | 2/2 (2 pts) | Increases the duration of your Shadow Word: Pain spell by 6 sec. |
| 40 | 49 | Shadow Reach | 2/2 (2 pts) | Increases the range of your offensive Shadow spells by 20%. |
| 42 | 51 | Improved Psychic Scream | 2/2 (2 pts) | Reduces the cooldown of your Psychic Scream spell by 4 sec. |
| 44 | 53 | Dark Inspiration | 5/5 (5 pts) | Your Mind Blast and fully channeled Mind Flay causes Dark Inspiration, increasing yours and your party's Spirit by 15% for 10 sec. |
| 49 | 58 | Silence | 1/1 (1 pt) | Silences the target, preventing them from casting spells for 5 sec and interrupting their spellcasts for 3 sec. |
| 50 | 59 | Power in Light | 2/5 (2 pts) | Your Smite and Penance spells deal 4% increased damage to targets afflicted with your Holy Fire or Shadow Word: Pain. |
When to deviate from this Priest leveling route
- Use Holy for direct and group healing. Spirit of Redemption 1 gates Prayer of Mending and Divine Fury 5 gates Searing Light.
- Use Discipline for shields and support. Improved Power Word: Shield 3 gates Soul Warding, and Penance 1 gates Power Infusion.
- If your plan avoids Mind Flay damage or relies on healing throughput, rebuild around the relevant tree instead of moving a few Shadow points around.
After changing a point, verify the result in the calculator. Removing a prerequisite can invalidate every dependent talent, and the 51-point budget leaves no room for a free substitution without removing another point.

Priest leveling route FAQ
How is this Priest leveling route validated?
Every one of the 51 points is generated against snapshot snap-4c0dd5427276 and checked by the same rules engine as the calculator: the 51-point budget, row gates, direct prerequisites and maximum ranks all pass. The official v9_ Build Code and the site share link are both produced from that validated allocation.
When does Priest receive each talent point?
The first talent point arrives at level 10, and one more arrives per level through level 60. More than one point can be shown on a level row because every level grants a point; the table records both the point order and the character level.
When should I change this Shadow leveling route?
Use Holy for direct and group healing. Spirit of Redemption 1 gates Prayer of Mending and Divine Fury 5 gates Searing Light. Use Discipline for shields and support. Improved Power Word: Shield 3 gates Soul Warding, and Penance 1 gates Power Infusion. If your plan avoids Mind Flay damage or relies on healing throughput, rebuild around the relevant tree instead of moving a few Shadow points around. The route is a legal starting point, not a claim that it is the only useful allocation for every player.
